About this Event

Maya Angelou said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” The death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police has broken open the pain, trauma and suffering that BIPOC people have been experiencing for hundreds of years. White people are waking up, feeling it and being activated to do something.

The real danger in this moment is that if we haven’t started to do our work on a deep and personal level, that we will continue to perpetuate harm to the BIPOC (Black and Indigenous People of Color) communities that we are intending to help. It is time for us to begin to take action and work in solidarity to leverage the advantages we have gained from our white privilege in these white supremist systems to be better allies and do better to address the transformative changes that are needed now.

This is a space for folks to begin to do the hard work of dismantling racism and white supremacy within ourselves, our communities, organizations and systems.

This is a space to be vulnerable and get real about what this work takes.

This is a space that will challenge you and support you as you begin to take your next steps on the lifelong journey of working towards a more just and equitable world.

How this works: We are offering 3 cohort groups, we will meet on Zoom for 90 minutes each week, over three weeks.

  • Wednesday Cohort: June 10th, 17th and 24th from 7pm - 8:30pm CST / 8pm - 9:30pm EST
  • Friday Cohort: June 12th, 19th, and 26th from 4pm - 5:30pm CST / 5pm - 6:30pm EST
  • Friday Cohort: July 10th, 17th, 24th from 6pm - 7:30pm CST / 7pm - 8:30pm EST

**To simplify our registration process, attendees will register for one of the three dates and plan for all three calls. We encourage you to stick to which cohort day and time works best for you, there are 25 seats available for each cohort.
